We are in opposition to the proposed LDS Temple to be located on N. Grand Canyon, Hickam & Alexander Road's.
The Applicant is asking for the following:
1.) General Plan Amendment
2.) Zone Change
3.) Variance - Unlimited
Property is located within NW Rural Preservation Overlay.
The GPA will change the General Plan of the Preservation Area in the NW along with the Zone Change and Variance will change the rural nature and character of the Lone Mountain area affecting all existing residents. This Temple project is inappropriate for such a rural area and belongs in an urban setting with the means for traffic, lighting, parking and off-sites which do not blend with the surrounding properties and rural mountain range, trails wildlife that exists there.
