Protect Pay Transparency
HB2377 is trying to end enforcement for Pay Transparency law in Washington State.
In Washington State, workers like you have the right to know what a job’s salary range is before they apply. And your right to pay transparency is at risk.
While, HB 2377 doesn’t repeal the law, it weakens the law.
The result is a system where transparency exists on paper, but not in practice.
How does HB2377 harm Washington Workers?
It gives non-compliant employers a defense claim against workers who report them or seek damages for breaking the law, arguing, “the applicant was simply not serious when they applied for the position.”
- This would force courts to dismiss valid cases against noncompliant employers.
- It opens a loophole for employers to put workers on trial as a strategy to avoid accountability.
Send a message to the House Labor & Workplace Standards Committee: Pay transparency works for Washington workers. Protect it. Vote NO on HB 2377.
