The Puget Sound Tenants Union (PSTU) is a member-run, all-volunteer organization of tenants and community supporters.

We fight against abusive landlords, rising rents, and evictions. We fight for better living conditions, lower rents, and dignity for all tenants, especially the poorest and most vulnerable.

Our ultimate goal is to build power for tenants across the region, and to transform the housing system from one that is designed to enrich a small minority of greedy, parasitic speculators to one that is designed to meet human need and guarantee comfortable, stable housing for everyone.

In the meantime, we believe the best way to win immediate improvements is to unite with your neighbors, build solidarity, and take action collectively to put pressure on landlords. We believe we can organize and win using our own power, and we don’t need to rely exclusively on politicians, lawyers, government officials, or other paid professionals to do it for us.

We encourage all tenants to join us and organize your buildings and communities. To get help with your organizing efforts, contact us!
