The Registered Nurses Professional Association is committed to obtaining the highest level of quality patient care and professional nursing standards by empowering each nurse to achieve their professional goals as individuals and as an organization.

• We negotiate for members on matters of economic and general welfare and administer collective bargaining agreements between members and employer.
• We represent registered nurses in employment relations with the Agency on all matters of wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
• We maintain dialogue between nursing staff and the Agency in order to allow the nursing staff to have an effective voice concerning conditions related to client care, nursing practice and professional standards.
• We serve as a mechanism by which the practice of nursing and quality of care received by consumers, is maintained, evaluated and improved.
• We participate in the implementation of evaluative processes in order to monitor adherence to established nursing standards.
• We promote a positive nursing image within the community.
• We promote career mobility in nursing.
• We further the continuing education opportunities of members.
• We promote legislation which fosters standards of excellence in nursing practice.
