Resilient Palisades is deeply intertwined with the spirit of our community. Founded in 2019 by a small group of concerned neighbors, we came together with a shared vision: to proactively address the climate and ecological crisis through local action and to build a more sustainable and resilient future for all.

Our mission is driven by a profound understanding of the vulnerabilities our community faces. The horrific wildfires of January 2025 brought this reality into sharp focus. When the wildfire struck, our resolve was tested, and we stood firm. We immediately sprang into action, providing crucial support during the recovery efforts and developing our "Guiding Principles for Rebuilding." Our message was clear: this tragedy presented an opportunity to rebuild smarter, safer, and more sustainably, emphasizing fire-resilient designs, native landscaping, and full electrification. We continue to advocate for policies that will ensure insurability and long-term resilience for every resident.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and our work is rooted in local action and our commitment has been recognized. In May 2025, Senator Ben Allen celebrated Resilient Palisades as the 24th Senate District's Nonprofit of the Year, acknowledging our "years of work advancing climate-resilient and other environmental initiatives." As our President, Aleksandar Pavlović, accepted the award, he underscored our collective experience of loss and our shared determination to transform tragedy into a beacon of hope. The story of Resilient Palisades is a testament to the power of community. It's about neighbors, many of whom have faced profound personal loss, coming together to address shared challenges with unwavering passion and dedication. It's about the quiet heroes who volunteer their time, their energy, and their expertise to weave a stronger, more resilient fabric for Pacific Palisades, one hopeful thread at a time. Our work continues, a living example of what a community can achieve when it chooses to be resilient, together.
