The Committee to Save Mike's Place has been formed in 2026 to prevent the closure of Mike's Place at Carleton University.

In 2025 a student levy was supported by students to ensure Mike's Place was never threatened with closure. Just one and a half years after students voted to implement a 7$ per term fee for Mike's the GSA has announced an unjust and undemocratic closure of Mike's, with no mention of refunds to the above levies.

Mike's Place was founded in 1972 to serve graduate students, staff, faculty and community members, not the GSA executive.

We will be calling on all levels of the GSA's administration to reverse this decision.
