Sea Change Recovery Community Organization and Harm Reduction Center
Our Values
Guided by lived experience and intentional strategy, Sea Change works to expand health equity, uphold human dignity, and foster mutual respect for all people impacted by substance use.
Based in Ocean County, New Jersey, Sea Change is committed to ending stigma and expanding access to compassionate, life-saving support. We believe recovery looks different for everyone—and that every path deserves respect.
Our Vision
With an intentional strategy grounded in lived experience, we advance health equity, human dignity, and mutual respect for people impacted by substance use. By building collective power to dismantle stigma and confront the overdose crisis, we challenge the failed “war on drugs” approach that has criminalized, isolated, and harmed people with substance use disorder for generations.
Our Programs
Harm Reduction & Community Health
We provide and advocate for comprehensive harm reduction services, including overdose prevention, safer-use education, and access to life-saving tools. Our approach is grounded in dignity, evidence-based practices, and meeting people where they are—without judgment.
Peer Recovery Support
Sea Change builds community, connection, and leadership by and for people directly impacted by substance use disorder (SUD). Our peer-led model centers lived experience to provide trusted support, reduce isolation, and empower individuals to define recovery on their own terms.
Advocacy & Systems Change
We engage in local, statewide, and national advocacy to promote accessible healthcare, equitable drug policy, and the responsible, transparent use of Opioid Settlement Funds. By uniting harm reduction–focused recovery community centers with community organizers across the United States, we share best practices in policy, implementation, and communications, while reshaping public narratives around substance use and recovery.
