Serve The People Akron is a collective of folks and organizations from Northeast Ohio who do mutual aid work. We struggle in solidarity with houseless folks and other oppressed people across the City of Akron. We recognize that poverty and houselessness, along with a host of other social conditions, are the result of a fundamentally oppressive, exploitative, and unequal system that deprives people of the most basic of human needs. We believe that engaging in mutual aid to meet the daily needs of struggling people is essential to building autonomous and resilient communities in a world marked by crisis and government inaction.
