Stop the section 21.1 being approved in Bill-33 the Supporting Children and Students Act which allows the government to cut funding to essential student services! This could include the very fees you voted to implement, such as your clubs funding levy which gives funding to the 300 clubs we have on-campus, your operational levy which supports the Food Bank, PiVik, the Student Rights Centre, along with the 7 other services your union provides , and your student life levy that pays for 101 week, frost month, and more.

This is the solution proposed by the government to decrease the price of tuition fees. But while they're looking to cut essential student services, they are ignoring the fact that Ontario remains to have the largest economies but the lowest rates post-secondary funding in the country.

Ancillary fees have been filling the gap that a provincial government would normally fund at our schools, like mental health services, sports gear and centres, community support for our international and our Indigenous students, and so much more.

If they truly want lower tuition, they need to fund post-secondary education properly rather than going after essential student services such as the crisis response teams, food banks, health insurance, and club funding.
