Sumud Coalition

The Coalition was formed out of the Sumud Freedom Camp. The camp calls for the end of the military occupation, a structuring of the legal regimes of oppression, and a creation of a space where justice and equality are universally recognized. The coalition uses principles of non violent resistance to keep the communities of Sarura on their lands, utilized direct nonviolent intervention against Israeli settlers who would use force on the camp, and leverages their broad networks to execute a robust advocacy strategy to challenge the legal regime. While Sarura was the starting point for the movement, the coalition addresses the immediate threat of oppression and violence.

The Sumud Coalition is made up of the following organizations: All That's Left: Anti Occupation Collective, The Center for Jewish Nonviolence, Combatants for Peace, and Holy Land Trust.

The Camp is an effort by these coalition member to join together as Palestinian, Israelis, Jewish and international activists against the Israeli occupation of Palestinian Territories. Specifically, the coalitions activities within the camp focus on engaging in shared resistance, civil disobedience, and nonviolent community action.
