Advocating for clear labeling of major food allergens and gluten in medications via the ADINA Act (H.R. 3821) as well as on food labeling via the Celiac Safety Act (H.R 9048). The ADINA Act (Allergen Disclosure In Non-Food Articles Act) is a federal bill that will require plain-language labeling of all major food allergens and gluten-containing grains in all over the counter and prescription medications in the United States. The Celiac Safety Act will amend the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act to add gluten-containing grains (wheat, barley, and rye) to the list of major food allergens, making food labeling clearer for those in the gluten free community.
