The Faithful of St. Adalbert Church (Pilsen, Chicago)

Chicago, IL
Glenn Nagel

We are the faithful of St. Adalbert Church in Pilsen (Chicago). We are comprised of past parishioners and local residents who cherish its spiritual and cultural significance to the community and Chicago at large. We support a plan to maintain the Catholic integrity of St. Adalbert's by designating the church as a shrine and converting the convent to a B&B-style retreat house similar to those found in Rome in unused convents and rectories. Given that our new Pope is Chicago-born, the City of Chicago is once again on the world stage and will enjoy the growing benefit of faith-driven tourists. St. Adalbert's, a historic and landmark-worthy site can play a major role in welcoming faith-based tourists from around the country and world. Such tourism will not only benefit the local Pilsen economy but it will sustain St. Adalbert long-term for future generations.
