The Transgender Encounter Project is a grass-roots stealth action ~ a SAFE and ANONYMOUS action ~ that allows ALL transgender people (including queer/nonbinary/fluid/intersex individuals) to bring awareness to just how many of us move around in society, unseen and unrecognized... and raise awareness for cis folks everywhere that ~ yes, indeed ~ they *have* met us and they *do* know us. This will exponentially raise awareness of who we are and, encounter by encounter, change our society.

How can our presence become normal and acceptable and how can our identities become harmless for cis gender folks if they don't ever have a clue that they've interacted with us? How can we make ourselves known in every day life without putting ourselves at risk of harassment or harm?

HERE IS HOW!! THE ACTION IS:

Option One: 
Trans people of all sorts and all manner of identification (or allies) create their own cards like the one above (please visit our Project page to see the card designs) and carry them around; leaving them anonymously behind them at stores, at human services, in cafes or restaurants, on buses, etc... just dropping them wherever they happen to hang out or do business or whatever, so that it gets people thinking.

Be sure to write the hashtag ‪#‎ transencounter‬  and/or our FB web addy (https://www.facebook.com/transencounter/) on the back!! This way we may get some feedback from those who are curious about the Project or who may have a few things to say abut their "trans encounter".

Option Two:
You may order various designs from us. We are offering the cards we print to those folks who don't have the time, energy, or inclination to create their own. We are not marking these up. You pay the vendor's set fees for printing/shipping. If you wish, you may add a donation of your choosing to your purchase price, to help the Project thrive. Again, trans folks (or allies) carry these around; leaving them anonymously behind them at stores, at human services, in cafes or restaurants, on buses, etc... just dropping them wherever they happen to hang out or do business or whatever, so that it gets people thinking.
