Trinity Services, Inc. is a 71-year-old, nonsectarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children and adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness flourish and live full and abundant lives. Trinity serves more than 3,500 people in more than 30 communities in northeast, central and southern Illinois.

Trinity was originally founded in 1950 as a school in Joliet, Illinois, by a group of parents of children with developmental disabilities. Since then, Trinity has grown to include a wide range of programs and services for children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and people with mental health needs. With a dedicated staff of over 1,100 people, Trinity provides residential services, community day services, a behavioral health network, a variety of vocational programs, respite services, in-home supports, and more.

For years, developmental disability services in Illinois have been underfunded by the State, resulting in an ongoing staffing crisis for organizations like Trinity Services. Trinity continually advocates for direct support professionals (DSPs) to be paid a living wage so that this staffing crisis may come to an end, resulting in a better quality of life for both DSPs and the people with disabilities whom they serve.
