United Veterans Coalition

The United Veterans Coalition is working together to alert Congress of our desire NOT to privatize the Department of Veterans Affairs. A letter has been drafted and sent to the United States Senate, and has gained the attention of one US Senator.

Today, we are working together to fight the proposal to privatize the Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare into a voucher system.

70% of veterans believe in keeping the VA Healthcare system.

Contrary to popular belief veterans of every era overwhelmingly approve of the VA Healthcare system. As of 2004 the system received a 91% approval rating from veterans, the highest rated healthcare in the nation for 5 consecutive years at that point. The American Customer Satisfaction Index even stated that the results of the Department of Veterans Affairs "should be considered a benchmark for (federal) agencies."

The last ACSI survey conducted in 2013 shows a dip in approval - 84%, which is still10 points above the national average. 95% of veterans in this survey stated intent to continue using the VA as their primary healthcare system.
