We are forming the Washington Post Tech Guild to build a more equitable, transparent, and sustainable future for all tech workers at The Post.

The Washington Post Tech Guild will fight tirelessly for:

• Equity & Inclusion for All: A workplace that actively addresses and rectifies systemic inequities in hiring, compensation and career advancement, with a focus on race, gender and other marginalized identities.

• Empowerment & A Seat at the Table: A meaningful voice in company decisions, transparent communication about policies that affect us, and clear pathways for career advancement with ample opportunities for professional development.

• Fair Compensation & Benefits: A transparent salary structure that reflects our value, regular cost-of-living adjustments, on-call pay, and comprehensive benefits like increased PTO and affordable healthcare.

• Job Security & Protection During Layoffs: Protection against unjust termination, unilateral changes, or wage reduction. We will fight for guaranteed severance and extended support for colleagues affected by layoffs, with particular consideration for visa holders.

• Flexibility & Modern Work Practices: A work environment that respects our autonomy and empowers us to choose how and where we work best, whether remotely or in the office while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
