YDSA at CNU is the local chapter of the Young Democratic Socialists of America at Christopher Newport University fighting for the immediate needs of workers and students while building our capacity to fight for more radical and structural changes. As the youth and student section of the Democratic Socialists of America, we are a part of a national organization of over 100 recognized campus chapters demanding immediate change and working towards a socialist future.

Our work involves creating improving the material condition for students at Christopher Newport University by demanding immediate and radical change from the university administration through popular support of the student body. This work includes demands for rights of bodily autonomy for women and lgbtq+ individuals, equity for underprivileged communities, demilitarization and divestment on and off our campus from the military and police, dismantling of imperialism, occupation, and genocide of the third world, and improved wages and living standards for all in order to create a future that is profoundly anti-fascist and socialist.
