You Owe Us (Y.O.U.) is a community-led reparations effort focused on healing and rebuilding neighborhoods impacted by systemic harm caused by local organizations, corporations, and government entities.

This initiative will be called “You Owe Us” (Y.O.U.). Going forward, we will:

• Focus on developing county-wide community-led strategic plans that focus on restoration of communities experiencing current and historical harm by local organizations, corporations, and governmental entities
• Serve as a group to identify elected officials for future openings that are proactive about introducing policies that address the harm directly and are willing to introduce policies that create a better quality of life for communities of color
• Retain properties, land, and other assets that were wrongfully removed or taken from communities of color.
• Support other groups in their efforts when possible, but not take the lead
