Gananda students have historically been underserved by the New York State Foundation Aid Formula. The 2024 Rockefeller report made several suggestions to provide greater equity in funding. We are asking that NYS begin implementing one of those recommendations. Specifically, the Rockefeller Institute’s recent report recommends allowing flexible property/income weighting for the Combined Wealth Ratio (CWR). This change would better reflect local economic realities and improve equity and predictability in aid distribution. We ask that the Governor and NYS legislators champion legislation in the 2026–27 budget that implements the Rockefeller recommendation to allow districts to choose the most appropriate local wealth measure
