2026 Richardson Working Conditions Campaign
As we navigate the challenges of the current educational landscape, it is imperative that we come together to address pressing concerns that affect us as educators and also affect the quality of education our students receive.
In light of the ongoing challenges posed by teacher burnout, excessive workloads, and safety concerns, we believe it is crucial to advocate for working conditions that reflect our hard work and dedication.
This letter aims to unite our voices in calling upon the Richardson Board of Trustees to take immediate action and approve:
PLC time built into the master schedule, ensuring every teacher receives the legally required 450 minutes of planning and preparation time without requiring them to stay after school for said PLCs
An employee wellness policy that includes: Two mental health days per year, with the ability to roll them over, comprehensive EAP services, wellness rooms, and mental‑health literacy training.
Maintain the current level of healthcare coverage without increasing premiums.
We urge you to sign the letter addressed to the Board of Trustees, expressing our collective concerns and demands for a brighter future for Richardson ISD. Together, we can ensure that we feel valued, supported, and empowered to continue making a positive impact in the lives of our students.
Thank you for your commitment to our students and each other.
