Support Good Homes and Good Jobs in Everett

The Sofia at 380 2nd Street represents a major investment in Everett’s housing supply, workforce and economy. The Sofia will create hundreds of much-needed housing units for local families, and with a commitment to 100% union labor, the project will create over 1,300 well-paying jobs and prioritize hiring Everett residents. It also supports long-term workforce development through trade apprenticeships and training opportunities.

The project brings lasting benefits to the community. The developer will fund the reconstruction of Garden Street Extension and create new public open space. Affordable housing will double to 62 HUD-VASH units, prioritized for Everett residents, with permanent deed restrictions. The project also includes over $3 million for environmental cleanup and significant contributions to public infrastructure and housing through linkage payments.

In addition, the Sofia will generate more than $8.4 million in tax revenue during the TIF period and $3 million annually afterward. The developer will also contribute $1.14 million to the new City Council–governed Sofia Good Neighbor Fund, supporting schools, public safety, seniors, and local nonprofits. Ongoing contributions from real estate tax payments will ensure long-term impact. This project not only delivers jobs and housing—it also reinforces Everett’s values of equity, sustainability, and community investment.
