August is a transgender man currently held captive in HMP Low Newton. As is too often the case, August was recalled to prison due to a technical error with his electronic tag through no fault of his own. This has caused immense distress to his young children.

since his recall, August has been targeted by transphobic abuse by staff at HMP Low Newton. He has been continually misgendered and subjected to invasive searches without due cause. august is currently in solitary confinement.

Today, 12th September 2025, prison officers attempted to move August to a wing of Low Newton where he was abused by screws. The abuse is known by the prison and noted in August’s file. Instead of consulting his file, August has been punished for refusing to move, meanwhile consistently misgendering him. This is intentional psychological and transphobic abuse.

August needs to be transferred to A wing where he will receive support from other prisoners.
