Send a Letter to the Rocky Flats Stewardship Council Calling for Transparency and Accountability
The Rocky Flats Stewardship Council (RFSC) is currently undergoing a restructuring process. The RFSC is an organization of local governments tasked with overseeing ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the Rocky Flats area. It has a history of excluding public engagement, lack of public transparency, and operating under a conflict of interest through Department of Energy funding.
The Council will be holding a regular meeting this upcoming Monday, June 3rd at 8:30am to discuss this restructuring process further. We urge members of the public to attend this meeting.
For a matter of such great importance to public health and safety, it is essential that the public is included during this transition. We are asking the RFSC to make a commitment to have a forum for sustained public communication with the transition facilitator. Thus far, the Stewardship Council has not committed to the public's demands. The June 3rd agenda states "Due to time limitations, there is no public comment. CDR Associates will rely on the Stewardship Council directors and alternate to represent your constituents’ and members’ interests."
Please write the Rocky Flats Stewardship Council a letter expressing your interest in transparency and accountability during this transition!
