The future of Open Streets Minneapolis is in jeopardy.

Take action to ask the Minneapolis City Council to restore the Open Streets event series in 2025.

Our Streets has proudly hosted Open Streets Minneapolis since 2011. Last year, the City of Minneapolis Public Works Department ended our contract without advance discussion. This decision jeopardizes the future of Open Streets, but the Minneapolis City Council can include funding for Open Streets Minneapolis in their budget amendment this November.

Open Streets Minneapolis is a cherished community tradition where neighbors meet neighbors, learn about their community, and experience a car-free environment. It is a hallmark of warmer weather that doesn’t require you to spend a penny to enjoy. We lose this and so much more if we are unable to continue Open Streets Minneapolis.

If there is enough public pressure, we can save Open Streets. The Minneapolis City Council can include funding for Open Streets Minneapolis in their budget amendment in November. From there, the Department of Public Service will allocate the funding to whichever department they see best fit to coordinate the program.
