Take Down the Stacks: Make Ravenswood Renewable

If you know Western Queens, if you live and work in the shadow of the Ravenswood Generating Station's smokestacks, you know that power plants have impacted our air quality for far too long. At this moment, we have a huge opportunity to transform that plant and say goodbye to fossil fuels. We're asking New York State to choose Ravenswood as a hub for renewable energy and the site where an offshore wind transmission line will plug-in to the downstate grid. New union jobs servicing offshore wind farms and managing battery storage would be based there, so people from Queensbridge, Astoria, and Ravenswood Houses could walk to work and help power the new green economy that is taking shape.

To help encourage the Governor to do the right thing by Western Queens and select Ravenswood for this project, we're asking friends and neighbors to send letters to the Governor requesting that she help Ravenswood make its transition to a renewable energy hub. It’s in her power to do so!
