Access Ohio 2050 Letter Writing Campaign

Person giving testimony

Ohio Department of Transportation is taking public comment on Access Ohio 2050, a plan for public infrastructure that will be implemented over the next 25 years.

Write to ODOT to share your support for public transit, pedestrian and bike facilities/lanes, passenger rail, and safe street designs in Ohio! Please send a short email to ODOT by 5/28 asking them to prioritize multi-modal and sustainable transit in Access Ohio 2050.

What is ODOT?
  • ODOT is the Ohio Department of Transportation.
  • They develop and maintain Ohio's transportation infrastructure. This includes highways, bridges, and public transit.
  • ODOT decides how transit infrastructure funding is allocated.
What is Access Ohio 2050?
  • Access Ohio 2050 is Ohio's long-range transportation plan.
  • ODOT's stated intent for Access Ohio 2050 is "to meet the future needs of the traveling public, address advances in technology, and deliver a transportation system that supports Ohio’s economic, social, and natural environments."
  • ODOT will take public comment on their plan for the rest of the year, but their first round of public meetings end May 28th. We want to show the overwhelming support for multi-modal transit, and encourage you to write to them before the 28th!

Take Action:

Ohioans need alternatives to a car-dependent transportation infrastructure. Tell ODOT that investing in passenger rail and multi-modal transit is the way to meet the needs of Ohio's "economic, social, and natural environments."
