The horrific mass shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego left three innocent people dead. It is currently being investigated as a targeted hate crime by the FBI. Let me be perfectly clear: this bloodshed did not happen in a vacuum.

This massacre is the direct result of an ecosystem of fear. For years, politicians, media figures, and organized hate networks have weaponized "Sharia" into a political slur. They have systematically treated Muslim Americans as a permanent suspect class.
