These small systems have become a cornerstone of Germany’s energy transition, helping everyday people lower their energy bills, cut pollution, and reduce reliance on fossil fuels—all without complex permitting or utility barriers. By embracing these technologies, Germany has proven that distributed, people-powered energy can scale quickly and deliver real climate benefits.

This is a movement.
