Contact your legislators and ask them to co-sponsor Amendment #33 to the economic development bond bill (S.2856) which would establish a permanent Farm to School Grant Program.  Read more about the FRESH grant pilot program.

This amendment #33, entitled Strengthening Our Local Food System would contribute to a stronger economy here in the Commonwealth by building a more robust and resilient food system for all residents. The amendment acts to codify a successful pilot Farm to School Grant Program currently being administered by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Additionally, it supports complementary efforts including establishing a Food System Coordinator position within the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources and enabling farms to receive tax benefits for donated food.
