ACTION ALERT: Now a third oil and gas company wants to frack Salt Fork. Tell them no!

The guns are really out for Salt Fork State Park, Ohio’s largest state park and the crown jewel of our state park system.
Now a THIRD oil and gas company wants to frack Salt Fork, and we have to tell them no – AGAIN.
We don’t know the identities of any of these fracking companies, but this latest application is to put 9 well pads on the north and west sides of the park, some as close as 395 feet from the park border. They want to frack 148 parcels in three townships.
If the Oil and Gas Land Management Commission approves all the fracking that’s been proposed for Salt Fork, we don’t see how that park can survive.
Unfortunately, we have to comment on each Salt Fork nomination separately – otherwise our opposition to all of them won’t register.
You already know all the things that make Salt Fork special: Hosak’s Cave, the Kennedy Stone House (pictured), the 2,200-foot inland sand beach, hiking, camping, fishing, boating, horseback riding, and more.
You already know the reasons why fracking at Salt Fork would be terrible – noise, toxic chemicals, massive water use, methane pollution, industrial truck traffic, toxic waste, and more.
Now tell the commission for the third time: No fracking at Salt Fork State Park.
Even if you have already sent in one or two comments against fracking at Salt Fork State Park, we need you to send another one, specifically for the latest fracking application. Please don’t delay – the deadline for this nomination is September 16.
Thank you so much for caring about Ohio state parks, wildlife areas, and other public lands.
