A December 2021 report by Oceana estimates that Amazon generated 599 million million pounds of plastic packaging waste in 2020, of which an estimated 23.5 million pounds has entered the world’s oceans and waterways. This is a 29% increase over the estimated packaging waste created by Amazon in 2019!
