Dear Sister Villagers,

Many of you have met Hana, from our Palestinian sister village of Almughayyir. Hana's cousin, Suha, is also from Almughayyir. Suha's dad is 84 years old, an American citizen who is a beloved father and grandfather and farmer. He looked out his window a few days ago and saw an Israeli settler paramilitary group on his property- cutting down his precious olive trees, trees he had planted and nurtured for years for his family. He bravely went out side and told them to stop. In response, one of the violent Israeli settlers walked up to him and sprayed this 84-year-old grandfather at very close range with pepper spray- directly in his eyes. Suha's father needed immediate medical treatment. The settler and his paramilitary group continued to destroy his property and no arrests were made- even though it was all caught on tape. And even though this grandfather is also an American citizen.

Please email and call your elected officials NOW and tell them to PROTECT the people of Almughayyir and all Palestinians from these American tax-payer-funded attacks.

But it's not just the paramilitary groups. It's the support they receive from heavily armed Israeli soldiers who protect the criminals. Last week Israeli settlers rampaged through Almughayyir and smashed cars and house windows with Israeli soldiers caught on tape visibly standing nearby and doing nothing.

This has happened DOZENS of times. The Israeli army then arrests any Palestinian who dares to stand up for their family or property. Just a few days ago, Israeli soldiers invaded many homes in Almughayyir , ransacking them and assaulting men and boys, kidnapping many and leaving terrified families unsure of what to do or who to turn to. A few days ago settlers set cars on fire, including multiple cars in Hana and Suha's family. Israeli soldiers just stood nearby harassing Palestinians.

As Andre X, a Jewish Israeli journalist said after witnessing the repeated attacks on Almughayyir, "This is an ongoing Krystalnacht", with daily Israeli attacks on the people of Almughayyir.

Have you told a friend about Almughayyir? And if you haven't spoken to your church, synagogue, mosque or community groups (book club, community garden, parent group, etc...) about Almughayyir yet, please do so now. Friends in Almughayyir are calling for our help! Once you sign the letter we've already written, please also call your elected officials. Tell them to PROTECT the people of Almughayyir and all Palestinians from these attacks, which are funded with American tax dollars.
