Asheville City Council considers approval of revised Ramada Inn property plan

This week’s GAP Report contains a positive “green flag” on the new plan for the River Ford Parkway property that used to be a Ramada Inn. The original plan called for a hundred units of permanent supportive housing, while the revised plan will cut that number in half in order to provide fifty affordable housing units at 50% of Area Median Income or below. Given the profound need in our City for more deeply affordable housing, which is what would meet the needs of many Black and Latine community members, we think this new proposal is a step in the right direction.
