We would like to invite you to welcome Sarah Mullally as the new Archbishop of Canterbury and urge her to read and support Christian Climate Action’s (CCA) vision document Stop Crucifying Creation: bit.ly/ourcalltothechurch
CCA launched the Stop Crucifying Creation document in September 2025 and has since been at Church of England locations around England with our banners asking the Church to adopt the vision of the document.
Now we invite you to join us in taking action wherever you are by sending Archbishop Sarah an email. Please fill in your details and click ’Start Writing’ to see the populated letter. You can also find the text and copy and paste it from here.
We are in a Climate and Nature Emergency. Millions are suffering and dying due to extreme weather and environmental impacts including floods, famine, fires, drought, pollution, biodiversity loss, deforestation, forced migration, and resulting conflicts.
We are asking Archbishop Sarah to lead the Church by speaking out prophetically against the forces driving this existential crisis, and encourage others to do the same.
We long for change within the Church of England, including:
- A switch to totally ethical investments and banking
- Re-wilding its land for nature
- Constant lobbying of government and other organisations for positive climate and nature action
- A return to a loving community of prayer, confession and mutual assistance which responds and cares for those suffering due to the crisis
