Ask Leader Pelosi: no more dirty money from fossil fuels
Our elected leaders cannot claim to be fighting for a more just and stable climate when they are in the pocket of the bad corporate actors and polluters who have only made the problem worse. This is a question of values: do they care more about short term self-preservation or about the communities they were elected to represent?
Already 33 Members of Congress have signed the pledge -- but not enough committee chairs have signed it. Far too many of our leaders are still taking campaign contributions from the fossil fuel executives, lobbyists, and PACs who pretend the climate crisis isn’t happening. They simply haven’t connected the dots between their donors and the delays and denials of the fossil fuel industry.
Write Leader Pelosi today and demand that every member of any select committee on climate change, and every incoming committee chair, join the more than 1,200 officials and candidates at the local, state and federal levels who have already signed the No Fossil Fuel Money pledge.
