Protect sensitive spaces from ICE arrests

HB 650 will ensure law-abiding individuals can engage in the justice system, vote, seek health care, and go to school without risking unjust arrest.

Without attempting to obtain a warrant from a judge, ICE is arresting people when they come to court, seek healthcare, or attend school. There have been threats made to do the same at polling places. This adversely impacts public health and safety, engagement in democratic practices, and undercuts legitimate law enforcement efforts

By providing protections against unjust arrests and detentions, this bill will build public trust, keep our communities healthy and safe, encourage engagement in democratic processes, and limit the capacity of federal agents to violate Virginians’ rights.

Vote YES on HB650 to protect Virginians when they access the court system, seek health care or an education, or vote from fear of unjust arrest or detention.
