The Senate Environment and Energy committee voted S975 (trunk fighting bill) out of committee on October 19, 2020. The bill (S975) is now in the Senate Budget and Appropriations committee.

On January 21, the Budget committee is meeting to vote on the bill. Our next step is to ask the committee members to vote YES!

• S975 establishes "trunk fighting" as a crime of the third degree animal cruelty offense. Never heard of trunk fighting? You’re not alone. Most people haven’t. Except, of course, the animal abusers. It's when 2 dogs are put in the trunk of a vehicle and are driven around until the fighting stops. Horrifying.
