Ask your legislators to co-sponsor HJ 7, the CT Environmental Rights Amendment
The CT Environmental Rights Amendment, which would put the individual right to clean and healthy air, water, soil, ecosystems, and environment, and a safe and stable climate into the CT State Constitution, has been introduced again this year as HJ 7, and has already been raised for a public hearing by the Government Administration and Elections Committee. With environmental protections, particularly environmental justice and climate, being tossed aside by the Trump administration from Day 1, building these powerful protections into our state constitution is more important than ever. We have been building support steadily over the last two years in the CT General Assembly, and there is a good opportunity to get it passed this year, a major step toward getting it on the ballot for a vote of the people.
Let's push this forward by getting our legislators to sign on as co-sponsors now.
