Ask your state legislators in Pennsylvania to advance workplace anti-abuse protections
Workplace anti-abuse legislation is with Pennsylvania's House and Senate Labor and Industry Committees. The time to urge committee members to move the bills forward is now.
Pennsylvanians deserve safe workplaces where they can thrive — not environments where abuse is tolerated.
Workplace bullying is far too common. It can include verbal and psychological abuse, deliberate interference with someone’s job performance, public humiliation, intimidation, threats, or coordinated efforts to push a worker out. And under current law, most workers have no legal recourse unless they can tie the abuse to a protected characteristic under the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.
That leaves thousands of workers unprotected.
That’s why we are supporting Senate Bill 1250 and House Bill 863 with amendments. This bill would extend court-ordered relief to workers who experience workplace bullying — even if they do not fall into a protected class.
Workplace bullying is not a personality conflict. It is a misuse of power that can devastate careers, damage health, and destabilize families.
Pennsylvania can lead in protecting workers from psychological abuse on the job. But lawmakers need to hear from us.
