Protect Kamela! Demand Justice and Immediate Action for the Black Female Victim in the Jehue Middle School Attack

On March 10, 2025, a tragic incident occurred at Jehue Middle School in Rialto, CA, involving Kamela, a kind-hearted, academically responsible student with no prior behavioral issues. Kamela has been relentlessly bullied by a male student for months. The school's failure to act culminated in a vicious attack during class, where a male student nearly twice her size knocked her unconscious. To make matters worse, the teacher present in the classroom during the attack neglected to intervene, violating both school policy and basic moral responsibility. Throughout the assault, hateful and racist slurs were hurled at Kamela by bystanders and her attacker. She feared for her life and tried to defend herself, but these efforts ended with her suffering a concussion.

Adding injustice to injury, Kamela now faces a felony assault charge with a deadly weapon and possible expulsion from school. This cruel and unfounded charge shifts the blame onto Kamela, effectively punishing the victim of prolonged bullying and systemic neglect.

Kamela deserves justice and support so she can heal. We are calling on the Rialto School District Board and the District Attorney's Office to acknowledge her exemplary character, review the circumstances surrounding this horrific event, and drop these baseless charges. Her voice must be heard, and the systemic failure to protect her must be addressed.

We ask you, as a community, to stand with Kamela. Please submit a letter of support highlighting her positive attributes, academic standing, and the injustice she faces.

Together, we can demand justice for Kamela and prevent further harm to an innocent young student. Let'sact now. Sign the letter.

Kamela's family also needs community support at this time. They have launched a fundraiser to help pay for her legal defense and medical expenses. Help her family get through this dark chapter and fight for the justice and healing she deserves.
