Berkeley district 8 says NO to Flock!

Residents of Berkeley Council District 8 have an important opportunity to stop expansion of surveillance in Berkeley!

Councilmember Humbert is ignoring the malicious power of our current federal government to use legal and illegal methods to access Flock's extensive databases to track journalists, immigrants, and citizens exercising their first amendment rights, women seeking healthcare and others. He has not recognized that Flock Safety cannot be relied upon to respect the contract. Most recently, the Police Chief of OshKosh, Wisconsin asked that the contract be terminated just one day after it was adopted because he found that Flock had lied to him about whether the federal government could access the data.

There are now 75 cities that have terminated their relationships with Flock.

Please send a letter to Councilmember Humbert ASAP but no later than May 6th as he and the rest of the council members will be taking a vote during a special city council meeting on May 7th.
