Black Maternal Health Matters - 2026

We are calling on every member of our WE CAN community to contact your U.S. Representative and Senators this week. Black maternal health is a crisis — and your elected officials need to hear from you directly.

When you reach out, tell them:

  • Why Black maternal health matters to you and your community personally
  • That you want to know where they stand on the Momnibus Act, reintroduced in March 2026 by Representatives Lauren Underwood and Alma Adams, with Senator Cory Booker leading in the Senate — the most comprehensive maternal health legislation ever put before Congress
  • That you are paying attention to how they vote on policies that affect maternal health, Medicaid coverage, and reproductive rights for Black women and families
