Petition to Reinstate Laurie Davis

To the Superintendent of Sharon Public Schools, Peter Botelho, the Chair of the Sharon School Committee, Avi Shemtov, and the Sharon School Committee:

On Monday, October 20th, Laurie Davis, a seasoned educator of over 25 years, was wrongfully fired from her job at Sharon High School for a post made on a personal social media page outside of the school day. Through firing Ms. Davis, Sharon Public Schools has set a chilling precedent—teachers are not entitled to their constitutional right of free speech.

We demand that the leaders of Sharon Public Schools resist censorship of educators and immediately return Laurie Davis back to the classroom where she belongs.
