Bring back Luis and Frengel
Two Tampa Bay area residents have been disappeared and sent to CECOT prison in El Salvador. Their families have not been in contact with them for over a month. We need our elected representatives to travel to El Salvador and check on their well-being.
- Frengel Reyes Mota is a 24 year-old Venezuelan immigrant, father, and husband. He came to the US looking for a better life for his family and made a living painting houses, working tirelessly six days a week. Living in Tampa, Frengel reported to the Tampa ICE office for a required check-in on February 4th, where he was detained, supposedly on suspicion of being a member of the Tren de Aragua gang, despite a total lack of evidence. He was deported and is currently trapped at the El Salvador CECOT prison.
- Luis Marcano Silva is a 26 year-old Venezuelan immigrant, devoted
boyfriend and father of two daughters. He built a quiet life in Bradenton, Florida, working and raising his family while pursuing legal asylum. Without warning on February 5th, Luis disappeared under ICE custody. With no due process, he was sent to El Salvador CECOT prison, accused of gang affiliations based solely on false claims about his tattoos. Neither his family in Venezuela, nor Bradenton, have had any communication with Luis since he was deported. He remains imprisoned without access to a lawyer, calls, or messages.
These are human beings with rights - we will not allow them to be mistreated this way!
