The Baltimore City Council is considering amendments to the City Charter that would give the City Council more power over the budget process. The City's Budget is a representation of our city's values and priorities. The With Us For Us Coalition aims to build a People’s Budget Campaign to fight for a budget process where people’s voices matter and truly reflect community needs.

It would give the council more time to scrutinize the mayor’s budget. It would fix a costly contracting system. It would simplify minor permits, and bypass the redundant Board of Estimates from the budget process. It would also improve legislative oversight of city spending by requiring troubled city agencies to report improvements before getting funding.
