San Diego Demands a Ceasefire!

San Diego gives more than $18.6 million dollars every year as military aid to Israel.

As citizens, we believe all lives are precious and are appalled that our hard-earned tax dollars are supporting a genocidal military campaign that has killed more than 26,000 Palestinians, killed 403 healthcare workers and 112 journalists, and destroyed hospitals, universities, and critical infrastructure in Gaza.

Since Oct. 7, Israel has blocked food imports to Gaza, razed crops and orchards, bombed bakeries, and destroyed mills, and 939,000 Gazans currently face emergency level (stage 4/5) food insecurity while 378,000 are in the catastrophic/famine stage (5/5) of starvation.

The Israeli blockade continues to obstruct the urgent delivery of medical aid, including anesthetics and antiseptics, forcing Gazan physicians to sterilize their instruments with vinegar, operate with unsterile equipment, treat cases of severe postpartum bleeding with hysterectomies, and perform c-sections on conscious patients without any form of pain control.

The humanitarian catastrophe in Gazan is man-made and preventable. San Diego has the opportunity to save hundreds of thousands of lives by calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and a massive influx of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

We urge San Diego City Council to support a ceasefire resolution that:

  1. Calls for immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire;

  2. Calls for immediate and unconditional humanitarian aid into Gaza; and

  3. Stands against anti-Palestinian, anti-Arab, Islamophobic, and antisemitic rhetoric and attacks.

Tell City Council why YOU support a ceasefire resolution!
