Call For Equality

We know you share the belief that everyone, including LGBTQ people, should be treated fairly and equally by the laws of our nation. The good news is that we have the opportunity to pass the Equality Act (PassTheEqualityAct.com) this year, which would provide protections from discrimination for the LGBTQ community in employment, housing, and public places.

The bad news: We face an uphill battle to get the bill passed through the Senate. The only way we can win is by mobilizing our supporters to contact their Senators.

In less than 5 minutes, you can take a stand for equality and help us get this bill over the finish line, ensuring that everyone, regardless of who they are or who they love, is treated equally.

Please fill out the form on this page to send a message to your Senator (when you click “Start Writing,” a pre-written letter to your Senator will appear). Or, call (202) 224-3121, follow the prompts (use the current zip code where you live), and leave a message with your Senator. Repeat for your second Senator.

Remember to:

  • Give your full name & address so they’ll know you’re a constituent,

  • Explain why you support the Equality Act and

  • Ask them to vote Yes on the Equality Act

Here’s a sample script you can use for your call:

“My name is [YOUR NAME] and I live in [YOUR CITY AND STATE]. I am calling to urge the Senator to vote YES on the Equality Act. LGBTQ people urgently need protection from discrimination in their daily lives. All Americans deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Thank you.”

Thank you for joining me in supporting the Equality Act. For more information on how to get involved visit PassTheEqualityAct.com
