Call on Governor Healy and the MA Legislature to stand with our Immigrant and Migrant Neighbors

The Western MA Area Labor Federation is working with affiliated unions and community groups to organize support for three key demands:

  1. Don't just prohibit future contracts, End the existing 287g Agreement with Massachusetts Department of Corrections
  2. Mandate virtual access to all Massachusetts court hearings through legislation and Massachusetts Trial Court policy so individuals can participate free from ICE presence and intimidation.
  3. Pass the Dignity Not Deportations Act to end and prohibit future 287g and IGSA Contracts in Massachusetts.

These proposals, supported by the LUCE Network and the Pioneer Valley Workers Center provide the strongest protections for our immigrant and migrant co-workers and neighbors. You may have seen Governor Healy and others in the state government celebrating measures to defend us against ICE. However, these policies don't do enough to protect our communities.

By contacting your legislators you can take a first step to supporting your neighbors. But we also call on you to continue to participate in the struggle against ICE and the deportation machine.
