LIUNA Local 630 is in a contentious contract campaign with signatory employer JEA. JEA has thus far declined to take financial action to address a growing wage disparity between LIUNA Members working in the "water/wastewater division" and IBEW members performing nearly identical duties on the "electric side" of the company. LIUNA 630 Members deserve equal pay for equal work. The Union and Employer are currently deadlocked, and may be headed toward an impasse. If negotiations reach an impasse, the Jacksonville City Council, as the legislative body regarding JEA employees will make the final and binding decision. LIUNA 630 has been blocked from meeting with City Council as an organization, but the Union's members and impacted area residents need to be heard.
