On Friday December 17, Mayor London Breed declared a State of Emergency in the Tenderloin in order to streamline her plans to “take back the Tenderloin.” Mayor Breed called for the arrest of drug users and homeless people using sit/lie while offering no expansion of treatment beds or housing. We need to tell the Board of Supervisors not to vilify, criminalize and degrade people living in poverty but to implement real solutions like CART, treatment expansion, jobs and housing.

We need to tell the Board of Supervisors to support real solutions - not criminalization.
